For metals to be used in any application, it is important that they display certain characteristics that determine their usefulness in said applications. For instance, titanium is a ductile metal, and so is it malleable. Hence, the right forming operations in combination with the ductility makes it relatively easy to form both Titanium Grade 2 Sheet & Plate.
Titanium, as a metal is a lightweight material. And so, it is not uncommon for buyers belonging to the aerospace industry to use the Titanium Werkstoff No 3.7035 Shim Stock in building various pieces of equipment. Moreover, the metal has outstanding corrosion resistance properties, which further makes the use of a Titanium Uns R50400 Strip Tape a very lucrative deal in the aerospace industry. Since titanium has excellent mechanical strength, a designer is free to reduce the cross section or the wall of the Titanium Grade 2 Sheets to some degree. Hence, it is possible to make a very lightweight product using this material. Though the metal is very expensive, especially when compared to stainless steel if the Titanium Grade 2 Plate is gauged to some extent, it is possible to save on the cost of the material as well. The cost could be saved because the metal is not easily corroded and the high mechanical strength makes it very difficult for the Titanium Gr 2 Coil to get physically or chemically damaged. Even though the mechanical strength of grade 1 is lower than Ti Alloy Gr 2 Foil, both metals have similar corrosion resistance properties.
