Stainless steel alloy grades such as UNS S31803 prove to be particularly useful in applications that are susceptible to stress related corrosion cracking. SCC or stress related corrosion cracking in pipes can have harmful effects on not only the workers in the factory but also to the business itself. Since ASTM A790 UNS S31803 Duplex Steel Seamless Pipe is resistant to SCC, the piping system becomes durable and it has longevity in comparison to conventional steels.
Besides having superior resistance to SCC, the ASME SA 790 UNS S31803 Pipe has improved mechanical characteristics like higher yield strength, which incidentally is almost twice that of a traditional austenitic stainless steel alloy.
