ASTM A240 Grade 304 Plate and SS 304 Coil Manufacturer in India

Dual certification is possible when a minor alteration is made to the chemistry of the Stainless Steel 304 Sheet & Plate. The alloy could either have low carbon chemistry or high carbon chemistry and still receive dual certification.

The only difference is the letter suffixed after the alloy grade. So the newer altered grade of Stainless Steel 304 Plate would either read 304H for high carbon and 304L for low carbon. Aside from being dual certified, the use of an ASME SA 240 Stainless Steel 304 Strip is adviseable to those industries or businesses that are on the lookout to reduce the cost of the entire application. Being a low cost alloy, the ASTM A240 Type 304 Sheet dominates the global market. It is versatile and the alloy is also easily available. In view of its corrosion resistance properties, though not as high as grade 316, the corrosion resistance of ASTM A240 Grade 304 Coils is just enough to satisfy the requirements of the buyers keeping in lieu of the price point. Along with having good resistance to atmospheric oxidation, the SS Werkstoff No 1.4301 Sheet exhibits resistance to moderately oxidizing as well as reducing environments. The mechanical strength of UNS S30400 Hot Rolled Plate is considered to be moderate at best.
