This nickel-copper alloy has a high resistance to steam at high temperatures as well. Along with its resistance to salt solutions, the alloy may be used in chemical processing industries because the Monel 400 Seamless Pipe resists caustic solutions. Good weldability, good resistance to corrosion in combination with moderately high tensile strength makes the ASTM B165 monel 400 Pipe well suited component used in industries like chemical and oil in addition to the marine industry. Although it is a common belief that nickel alloys perform well at elevated temperatures, this nickel alloy delivers good performance at subzero temperatures as well. In a deaerated condition, the UNS N04400 Pipe may be used in the presence of corrosive acids like sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and hydrofluoric acid.
