Because the chemical composition of Cu-ni Din 2.0882 Square Bar consists of about 70% copper, the material inherits properties such as anti-microbial properties, resistance to biofouling as well as resistance to salt solutions and brine. Together, these properties make it easier for a buyer to employ the Cu-Ni 70/30 Bright Bar in marine engineering. This particular alloy also delivers an excellent performance when alloy 70/30 copper nickel round bar is used in polluted seawater. The material also performs well in high-velocity water because it not only offers good corrosion resistance properties but the Cupro Nickel 70/30 Flat Bar discourages the deposition as well as the growth of biofouling organisms like lichen and moss. The addition of 30% nickel and the inclusion of iron and manganese in the chemical composition of the UNS C71500 Cu-Ni Rod makes the alloy more endurance to abrasion and corrosion. In fact, the higher content of nickel present in the alloy also grants it with slightly improved strength than copper nickel 90/10, making them employable in engineering based applications.
