Alloy C276 is a premium nickel based alloy with the most outstanding resistance to corrosion. Along with nickel, the Hastelloy C276 Round Bar contains both molybdenum & chromium in their alloy. While the addition of these two elements in combination with nickel gives the Hastelloy UNS N10276 Cold Drawn Bar superior resistance to corrosion, the material also has some amount of tungsten in its alloy.

It is the addition of tungsten that alleviate the material from superior to a premium outstanding one. Tungsten, when added to nickel alloys like the Alloy C276 Rod improves certain characteristics. A major leap seen in the properties of the material is the improved wear resistance of the ASTM B574 Hastelloy C276 Flat Bar. Because of its wear resistance properties, the rate of decay by friction is slower and hence, the surface of the Hastelloy 2.4819 Threaded Bar remains relatively unaffected. This particular alloy performs well in the Oil and Gas industry. The use of the Hastelloy C276 Grade Round Rod is in the production of the Oil and Gas, especially since this industry is prone to get corroded by sour gas. Unlike conventional stainless steel, alloy steels, and carbon steels, the Alloy C276 Hastelloy Bar Stock exhibits resistance to corrosion from sour gas in the Oil and Gas industry.
